Two people were killed Tuesday in a three-car crash on the Trans-Canada Highway near here. Betty C. MacAdam, 75, of Little Narrows, N.S. and Jean J. Gaudet, 70, of the Memramcook area were killed when two cars collided and a third crashed into the wreckage. Gaudet’s wife, Exia, and a relative of MacAdam’s, Donald, were among the injured.

Jean Gaudet was born in St. Joseph and was the son of the late Willie and Henriette (Ouellette) Gaudet. He worked with the Iron Ore Co. at Schefferville, Que. as an electrician and foreman for 20 years until he retired a few years ago. He was president of Pré-d'en-Haut Golden Age Club for the past three years. He was active in sports in the late 1930's and early 40's. He was a star third baseman for several St. Joseph baseball clubs. He also played right wing for several area hockey teams.

Besides his wife, he is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Adrianne Dailey (Lise) of Whitby, Mrs. Rick St. Germain. (Diane) and Miss Jeanette Gaudet each of Montreal, Miss Mirielle Gaudet and Mrs. Dave Edgewood (Marilys) of Kitimat, B.C.; three sons, Jean-Guy. of Kitimat, Pius and Francis each of St. Joseph; four brothers, Hector of Memramcook, Camille of Toronto, Louis and Vital each of St. Joseph; seven sisters, Mrs. Thérèse Cormier, Miss Marie Gaudet and Mrs. Aldoria Gaudet (Jolianna), all of St. Joseph, Mrs. Jeanne Mance Arsenault of Wellington, P.E.I., Miss Alberta Gaudet and Mrs. Raoul Dionne (Yolande), both of Moncton and Mrs. Rosa LeBlanc of Dieppe; 13 grand-children, several nieces and nephews.

The body is at Dupuis Funeral Home in Memramcook. Funeral mass will be celebrated from Notre Dame de Annonciation at Pré-d'en-Haut.
